1. Product Overview
The NYLUGB series vortex flow meters are flow measurement instruments designed and manufactured with the introduction of advanced national technologies. They feature stable and reliable performance and have obtained a number of national patents. The production of these products strictly complies with the national industry standard JB/T9249-2015 Vortex Flow Meters and the national metrological verification regulation JJG1029-2007 Verification Regulation of Vortex Flow Meters.
The media that can be measured by the vortex flow meter include: saturated steam and superheated steam; low-viscosity liquids such as water, oil, alcohol, and chemical raw materials; various gases such as compressed air, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, natural gas, and mixed gases. It is widely used in industries such as metallurgy, petrochemical, light industry, food, and sewage treatment.
2. Working Principle
The vortex flow meter is a type of flow meter designed and manufactured based on the Karman vortex street principle and modern electronic technology. The frequency of vortex generation is proportional to the velocity of the fluid. Under certain conditions, it conforms to the formula: f = St × v/d.

When the fluid flows through the vortex generator (such as a triangular prism), regular vortex trains (i.e., Karman vortex street) are alternately generated on both sides of the generator. The alternating lift force generated by the vortices acts on the piezoelectric sensor, causing it to produce an alternating charge signal. After processing such as amplification, filtering, and shaping by the amplifier, a voltage pulse signal is output. By detecting the vortex frequency, the flow velocity and volume flow rate of the fluid in the pipeline can be measured.

4. Installation Requirements for the Flow Meter
The vortex flow meter is normally installed horizontally, and can also be installed vertically or at any inclined angle. However, when measuring liquids, the pipeline must be fully filled with liquid. When installed on a vertical or inclined pipeline, the liquid should flow from bottom to top.
The upstream and downstream sides of the vortex flow meter should have long straight pipe sections. The lengths of the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections vary depending on the pipeline conditions. For specific installation lengths and requirements of the straight pipe sections, refer to the table below.
The downstream straight pipe section of the meter should be greater than 5D.
The fluid should not contain large particles or long fibrous impurities to avoid affecting measurement or damaging the flow meter.
The flow meter should be avoided being installed on pipelines with mechanical vibration, and strong electromagnetic interference should be avoided as much as possible.
To prevent external electromagnetic interference, the flow meter housing must be reliably grounded, but it must not share a ground with the high-voltage system.
When installed outdoors, there should be a cover on the upper part to prevent rainwater from entering and direct sunlight exposure, which may affect the performance and service life of the flow meter.
